Austin Appleby has been the reason the Florida Gators jumped out to an early lead over Alabama in the SEC Championship Game. He’s also a big reason ‘Bama now has the lead after cornerback Minkah Fitzpatrick took a horribly thrown interception 44 yards to the house in the first quarter.
As you’ll see here, Appleby threw this ill-fated pass about four yards behind his intended receiver, Antonio Callaway, who did not see the same thing his quarterback did on this play.

This score put the Crimson Tide up by three points, 10-7. It it also represented the 10th defensive touchdown of the season, an astounding mark, and the second pick-six for Fitzpatrick this year.
