Larry Fitzgerald on Cardinals: ‘I would never play anywhere else’

We can now pretty much throw out any idea that Larry Fitzgerald will move on from the Arizona Cardinals. The wide receiver seemed to keep the door ajar regarding that possibility earlier this month (more on that here).

Now, with just two games left in his team’s season, the future Hall of Famer shut down the idea that he’d ever suit up for another team.

The largest takeaway there? “I would never play anywhere else.”

Fitzgerald, as he has done throughout the past couple seasons, did leave open the possibility that he will retire at the end of the year. Though, based on what we’ve seen from him this season, that also seems a bit unlikely. The 33-year-old nine-time Pro Bowler leads the NFL with 98 receptions heading into Week 16.

Should Fitzgerald return to the desert for one more season, it will most definitely be interesting to see how his team looks. In the video above, he did somewhat hint that head coach Bruce Arians and quarterback Carson Palmer are also contemplating their futures right now.

Arizona is concluding a disappointing season that sees it head into Week 16 with a 5-8-1 record and eliminated from playoff contention.
