Seattle Seahawks All-Pro safety Earl Thomas missed last week’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with a hamstring injury. Early in his return to action Sunday night, Thomas had to be carted off the field with another injury.
It was a bad scene in Seattle. One that made us wonder aloud just how serious the injury itself might have been.

Mere minutes after being forced from the game, Thomas apparently sent a couple cryptic tweets from his verified account. One of the tweets even broached the possibility of retirement.
This game has been so good to me no regrets.. A lot is running through my mind including retirement thanks for all the prayers.

The other one made fun of fellow Seahawks safety Kim Chancellor.

The messages he sent out via social media following said injury should concern football fans the world over. Thomas is a pleasure to watch. No one wants to see his career cut short to injury.
Unfortunately, it appears that Thomas himself is in for a long recovery.
Update:
#Seahawks S Earl Thomas suffered a broken bone in his leg in the first half, sources say. He's out indefinitely. Brutal injury.

We wish Thomas the best moving forward here.
