Chiefs to activate Justin Houston off PUP list

The Kansas City Chiefs will soon get one of their top players back on the field. According to Justin Houston’s agent, the star linebacker will be activated off the physically unable to perform (PUP) list later on Wednesday.

It’s not yet known whether Houston will play this upcoming weekend against the Carolina Panthers. But that would most definitely be some bad news for reigning NFL MVP Cam Newton, who is already tasked with having to face pressure from Dee Ford and his nine sacks this season.

Houston, a four-time Pro Bowl performer, is coming off a 2015 season that saw him record 7.5 sacks. In the year prior, he led the NFL in that category with 22.

Expect the Chiefs to take it slow with Houston, who is coming off an ACL surgery and has a history of lower-body injuries.
