Steve Smith doubtful to play Sunday against Jets

Baltimore Ravens star wide receiver Steve Smith has been declared “doubtful” due to an ankle injury for Sunday’s tilt against the New York Jets.

In what could be a pretty solid blow to the Ravens’ offense, Smith clearly isn’t expected to play.

Smith, who caused a stir earlier in the week with his comments regarding former New York Giants kicker Josh Brown, was by far the Ravens’ most reliable wide receiver this season.

He currently leads the team in targets and receptions and is second on the team in yards to Mike Wallace

Kamar Aiken, who himself is dealing with a thigh issue, is expected to see an uptick in snaps with Smith out on Sunday, as well as second year first round draft pick Breshad Perriman.
