You don’t need to be a genius to understand that Sam Bradford’s relationship with the Philadelphia Eagles didn’t end on the best of notes.
Bradford signed a two-year extension with Philadelphia during the spring, only to see the team trade up for the rights to select Carson Wentz No. 2 overall in the 2016 NFL Draft. At that point, Bradford was a no-show during off-season activities. It led to speculation that the veteran wanted out of dodge.
Now, less than two months after actually being dealt to the Minnesota Vikings, Bradford returned to Philadelphia as a visitor. It didn’t go too swimmingly, as his Vikings suffered their first loss of the season by the score of 21-10.
Following the game, first-year Eagles starter Carson Wentz attempted to embrace Bradford at midfield. It’s a ritual for opposing quarterbacks. A way to show respect for one another.
Bradford apparently wasn’t have any of it.

It’s understandable that Bradford would be upset after turning the ball over three times in an 11-point loss. Magnifying this frustration, he put up the horrendous performance in Philadelphia itself.
Still, one has to wonder why Bradford figured it was okay to give his former teammate the cold shoulder here. It’s not Wentz’s fault Philadelphia chose the young signal caller over his veteran counterpart. Show some respect, even in defeat. Is that too much to ask?
