LeSean McCoy injures hamstring, Bills not sure how severe it is

LeSean McCoy

Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy is nursing an injured hamstring. Unfortunately, coach Rex Ryan and the rest of the Bills don’t seem to know how severe it is going forward.

Traditionally, it’s quite difficult to determine recovery time on hamstring injuries. One thing that’s been proven over the years is that a rushed return is a bad idea.

With that said, the Bills certainly need a healthy McCoy. As far as 2016 has gone, a strong McCoy has meant a strong Buffalo team. The opposite has also been true.

During the Bills’ current four-game winning streak, McCoy has rushed for 470 yards at better than six yards per carry with five touchdowns.

During the team’s 0-2 start, McCoy rushed for only 117 yards at under four yards a carry with only one touchdown.

Buffalo has a challenging three-game stretch coming up before their bye. Road games against the Miami Dolphins and Seattle Seahawks sandwich a home date against the New England Patriots. A strong McCoy would seemingly be essential if the Bills are going to escape that with a 2-1 record or better.
