Hue Jackson expects Josh McCown to start for the Browns

The Cleveland Browns look like they are actually going to get some good news on the injury front at quarterback. First-year head coach Hue Jackson indicated on Thursday that he expects Josh McCown to return from injury in time to start Sunday against the New York Jets.

McCown has been out since suffering a broken left collarbone in his only start of the season back in Week 2. The veteran was initially thrown under center after Robert Griffin III suffered a shoulder injury in the team’s season-opening loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Since McCown went down, the Browns have been forced to go with a combination of Cody Kessler, Charlie Whitehurst, Kevin Hogan and Terrelle Pryor under center.

With Kessler still sidelined due to a concussion he suffered last week, it figures that a healthy McCown would get the start.

At 0-7 on the season, the Browns are in desperate need of a win. Their best opportunity to actually accomplish this feat will come against a struggling Jets team at home on Sunday.
