Browns QB Cody Kessler leaves game with a concussion

Cody Kessler

The Cleveland Browns’ quarterback situation simply isn’t getting any better. Whether it’s injuries or ineffective play, this is one of the primary reasons the team reamains without a win.

That took on a whole new meaning Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals with rookie signal caller Cody Kessler departing due to a concussion.

Kessler had completed 9-of-11 passes for 82 yards prior to exiting. He’s been replaced by fellow rookie Kevin Hogan under center for the Browns.

That’s now a total of five different quarterbacks the Browns have seen take snaps under center. Add in Terrelle Pryor seeing action there, and this number increases to a half of dozen.

Needless to say, the Browns have themselves what appears to be yet another quarterback quandary. Depending on the severity of Kessler’s concussion, the team may be forced to sign another veteran off the street.

Robert Griffin III is on injured reserve with a shoulder injury and Josh McCown remains sidelined as well.
