A majorly divisive figure since hanging up his baseball cleats, former MLB pitcher Curt Schilling has apparently decided to put his money where his Twitter finger is.

Schilling has announced a bid to run against standing Senator Elizabeth Warren (D) in the state of Massachusetts.

It’s long been an ambition of Schilling’s to run for political office. And in reality, he couldn’t have found a more publicly scrutinized potential senate race.

Warren, a long-time senator in Massachusetts, has been a staunch Hillary Clinton supporter during the 2016 presidential election cycle. Meanwhile, Schilling himself has thrown support behind the Republican candidate, Donald Trump.

Though, it also must be noted that Schilling himself did seem to split from Trump a tad when announcing his senate run on Tuesday.

He also made sure to attack his opponent while tying together what was a fabulous baseball career for the potential Hall of Famer.

It sure does look like Schilling already has the hang of this political thing.

This is most definitely going to be an interesting race to watch. While Schilling himself is about as divisive as it gets from a political standpoint, he will offer stark alternatives to Warren during the race itself.

Schilling, 49, retired from baseball back in 2007. He finished with 216 career wins and earned a trip to the All-Star Game six times.
