Bruce Arians expects Carson Palmer to clear concussion protocol Tuesday

The Arizona Cardinals struggled to make things happen through the air last week while Carson Palmer remained in the NFL’s concussion protocol. Thankfully, Palmer is expected to clear that protocol Tuesday.

This means he should be available next Monday night when the Cardinals host the New York Jets.

Though Palmer has had his own struggles this year, he remains — by far — the best quarterback on Arizona’s roster.

Stanton has completed just 37.2 percent of his passes and has averaged just four yards per attempt while throwing two touchdowns and two interceptions.

Palmer is completing 58.8 percent of his passes (near a carer low) but is averaging 7.5 yards per attempt while throwing six touchdowns and five interceptions.

No matter how you slice it, head coach Bruce Arians needs better play out of his quarterback this year. Thankfully for Palmer and the Cards, their next opponent has been among the worst in the league at defending the pass (more on that here).

With nearly a week to get ready for the Monday Night Football matchup against the Jets, we’ll be surprised if Palmer doesn’t shred New York’s secondary in the upcoming game.
