Brock Osweiler booed as he hit field in Denver

Brock Osweiler

Brock Osweiler is not well loved by Denver Broncos fans. This is something we didn’t exactly need proof of heading into Monday night’s showdown against the Houston Texans, but we got it anyway.

As soon as Osweiler hit the field in Denver, he was met with a chorus of boos.

Osweiler had a chance to quarterback for the Broncos in 2017 and beyond after Peyton Manning retired. However, he was extremely bitter that he was replaced by Manning in Week 17 last year when the team struggled against the San Diego Chargers in the second half.

As we all know, Manning didn’t exactly do a ton on his own, but his presence spurred a positive reaction that helped Denver win the game. And then he took over as the team entered the playoffs and won Super Bowl 50.

The result of all this was that Osweiler signed a four-year deal with the Houston Texans and spurred the Broncos in the process — because Houston gave him a better chance to win.

At the time, it seemed like the Broncos might have gotten burned, but in truth neither Osweiler or Denver came out smelling like roses.

In his time with Houston, the quarterback has been less than stellar. Truly, he’s been no better than middle-of-the-road, if not a bust in the making. It’s for this reason that John Elway recently threw some serious shade Osweiler’s way.
