Whether it’s the San Diego Chargers’ inability to close out games or Alex Smith’s magic, something crazy happened in Kansas City on Sunday.
Down 24-3 more than midway through the third quarter, Smith and the Chiefs staged a monumental comeback against their division rivals to open the season.
By virtue of two touchdown passes from Smith and a touchdown run from backup turned starter Spencer Ware, Kansas City ultimately forced overtime.
Then, in the extra stanza, Smith proved that there was still some magic left in the tank.
