The Denver Broncos have reportedly released Mark Sanchez, pinning their hopes on Trevor Siemian and rookie Paxton Lynch.

This move also saves the Broncos a bit, both financially and in draft currency.
With Broncos releasing QB Mark Sanchez, they save $4.5 million and don't have to pay Eagles the conditional 7th-round pick.

Sanchez was not trustworthy when he got his chances this preseason. He threw an interception and lost two fumbles on just 3o passing attempts. Even more noteworthy is the fact the Broncos didn’t even bother playing him at all in the third or fourth preseason games.
This should probably mean the end of the road for the former first-round pick of the New York Jets. But given the lack of quality quarterback options in the NFL these days, nobody should be surprised if Sanchez quickly finds a new home.
The Broncos are taking a huge gamble, using Siemian and Lynch as their offensive leaders this year. But it only highlights the franchise’s failure this offseason to bring in a worthy starter after losing out on the Brock Osweiler sweepstakes.
For the sake of their fans, the Broncos better feature a championship-caliber defense again this year. Because the offense will struggle.
