Mike Zimmer has interesting take on facing Aaron Rodgers

Mike Zimmer

As much as most folks do not like going to the dentist, we know we must do it. Minnesota Vikings Head Coach Mike Zimmer appears to share the same sentiment when it comes to playing against Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers.

Just like the sun sets and rises daily, the Vikings must play their divisional foe, the Packers, twice during the regular season.

Why not get one of those ugly meetings out of the way in Week 2, right? The Vikings are coming off of a sweet road win when their defense dominated the hapless Tennessee Titans.

Rodgers and Co. also reigned victorious in the 110-degree heat in Jacksonville.

The Vikings will host the Packers for their first home game of the season. One thing we know for certain is one of these teams will not be 2-0 when Week 2 comes to a close.

Zimmer’s Vikings are going to have to bring a lot more to the table when it comes to their offense this week.

In a cruddy Week 1 debut, a Shaun Hill-led offense managed only 301 total yards and zero touchdowns. Adrian Peterson, in particular, put up one of his worst performances ever.

Thankfully, the Vikings defense’ and kicker Blair Walsh saved the day.

Hopefully, Sam Bradford will help deliver a different offensive outcome when the Vikings face square off with Rodgers and the squad on Sunday.
