Sometimes, there are tragedies that are too hard to comprehend. This is one of those times.
Young Miami Marlins pitcher Jose Fernandez died in a boating accident on Saturday night.
The news was first broke by Andy Slater of 940-AM WINZ in Miami.
Horrific news to report this morning, multiple people inform me that Marlins' pitcher Jose Fernandez was killed in a boating accident.

The hope here was that Slater might have been fed some bad information. Unfortunately, the Marlins have since confirmed Fernandez’s death.

Fernandez was just 24 years old and had a bright future ahead of himself, both on the baseball diamond and off it.
He defected from Cuba back in 2008, and was seen as one of the best young talents in the game.
The gravity of this tragedy is summed up in a post Fernandez himself made on Instagram just a few short days ago.
This is heartbreaking. Jose Fernandez just posted this a few days ago. #RIPJose pic.twitter.com/G4EAFgIpA0

Our thoughts go out to Fernandez’s family, the Miami Marlins and the entire MLB community.
