It sure looks like there’s some unity within the San Francisco 49ers’ locker room. That’s something we couldn’t have said over the past couple seasons.
Five members of the team joined Colin Kaepernick in his now famous national anthem protest prior to Sunday’s road game against the Carolina Panthers.
Like he has done recently, former Pro Bowl safety Eric Reid took a knee with Kaepernick.
Joining the two in protest were Antoine Bethea, Rashard Robinson, Eli Harold and Jaquiski Tartt, all of whom raised their fists in protest (via CSN Bay Area).
The Kaepernick-led protest against perceived injustices in the United States has taken on a whole new meaning with multiple players from several others teams taking part.
It will be interesting to see how this moves forward and whether the protests grow as the season progresses.
What we do know is that Kaepernick’s teammates in San Francisco appear to be united behind his cause. Sunday was a representation of just that.
