Robert Griffin III is making the most of his new lease on life. The first-year Cleveland Browns starting quarterback is coming off a tremendous preseason performance that saw him display the talent we witnessed during his rookie campaign with the Washington Redskins.
Now, heading into his first regular season start with the Browns, it appears that Griffin III has gained the trust and respect of his new teammates.
Less than a year removed from being jettisoned from D.C. quicker than a third-party candidate running for president, Griffin III has been named one of Cleveland’s four team captains.
#Browns RG3 must be doing something right. Was voted a team captain by players, along w/Joe Thomas, Joe Haden, Demario Davis and T.Carder

It’s a somewhat shocking turnabout for a player that was seemingly out on an island by himself with the Redskins. Reports of issues with teammates and the coaching staff played a large role in Griffin III’s demise in the capital city.
We have no idea how this whole thing is going to play out for Griffin III and the Browns. What we do know is that there’s been a sense of confidence we haven’t seen from a player at this position in Cleveland for some time.
