Sterling Shephard continues to shine at Giants camp

With Odell Beckham Jr. out with an injury, other New York Giants receivers are getting a chance to shine at training camp. One receiver taking advantage of that chance is rookie Sterling Shepard.

“Shepard worked with the first-team offense and caught several passes during team drills,” per Jordan Raanan, ESPN. “None were more impressive than when he plucked an Eli Manning pass out of the air in the middle of the field during a no-huddle drill.”

It certainly looks like New York has found a steal with its second round pick. T

his is not the first time that Shepard has shown promise for the Giants. In June, defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo reportedly mistook Shepard for Beckham.

The Giants receivers are already formidable. Beckham is one of the game’s best. Victor Cruz, formerly one of the game’s best wideouts, finally looks ready to return to action.

Beckham had a big year in 2015 for Oklahoma, catching 86 passes for 1,288 yards and 11 touchdowns. If he really is a developing star, New York will be a nightmare opponent for secondaries throughout the league.
