Hold onto your butts, folks, because stuff’s about to get real as it pertains to MLB’s interest in Tim Tebow.

Jon Heyman of Today’s Knuckleball reports “multiple teams have shown interest in at least watching Tim Tebow workout later this month.”

Tebow is currently training with former MLB catcher Chad Moeller, who seems to have faith in his pupil.

Tebow is looking quite compact and proficient with the bat. But it remains to be seen what he’ll look like compared to pro talent, facing real-life pitchers under pressure.

Moeller isn’t the only one who likes what he sees from Tebow as he trains, however.

“This may sound like a publicity stunt, but nothing could be further from the truth,” Brodie Van Wagenen, co-head of CAA Baseball, said in a statement. “I have seen Tim’s workouts and people inside and outside the industry – scouts, executives, players and fans – will be impressed by his talent. As an agent, I have a genuine respect for how hard it is to succeed at the game of baseball and a true admiration for those who possess the talent to play it at the Major League level. Tim’s tool set is real.”

Of course, there are probably many more in the industry who are filled with skepticism. Based on the reaction Baltimore Orioles manager Buck Showalter had on Wednesday (watch here), most long-time players, managers and front office personnel probably don’t believe Tebow has a chance to make it in pro baseball.

For our part, we can’t wait to see what kind of chatter develops after Tebow works out for teams later this month.
