Steve Kerr, Stephen Curry fined $25,000 for Game 6 antics

Steve Kerr

After a frustrating Game 6 loss, Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr and guard Stephen Curry were hit with $25,000 fines, ESPN’s Marc Stein reports.

Kerr’s fine stems from the way he blasted officials regarding the calls on Curry (read more about that here). Curry, meanwhile, was tossed from the game after throwing his mouthpiece into the crowd in frustration (hitting a fan) with said officiating after he was called for his sixth foul.

For his part, Curry maintains he didn’t intend to toss his mouthpiece into the crowd.

“I’ve thrown my mouthpiece before,” he said, via ESPN. “I usually aim at the scorer’s table. I was off aim. Definitely didn’t mean to throw it at a fan,” Curry said. “That was obviously not where I was trying to take my frustration out.”

Both Kerr and Curry would be wise to look at themselves, rather than the officiating, as they move ahead to Game 7.

The Cavaliers have completely dominated the past two games to force the final contest, which takes place Sunday night at Oracle Arena at 8:00 p.m. ET. Curry has been visibly thrown off his game by LeBron James, and Kerr has had no answers for what the Cavs have been doing on both ends of the court.

Game 7 is going to be crazy. Cooler heads will prevail, so Kerr and Curry must refocus and get over their frustrations quickly.
