Klay Thompson: Yoda socks gave him ‘Jedi powers’ in record-breaking Game 6

Klay Thompson

Klay Thompson did things only a Jedi could do in Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals. Therefore it’s no surprise that he credits the Force for his record-breaking night.

Speaking with Michael Lee of The Vertical, Thompson revealed the secret to his success: “I brought my Yoda socks to bring out my Jedi powers,” he said.

Thompson’s 11 three-pointers from Game 6 is a new NBA Playoffs record. He also scored 41 points, which put him in rare company historically, based on the circumstances of his scoring outburst.

Truly, what Thompson and the Golden State Warriors did on Saturday night against the Oklahoma City Thunder was glorious to behold.

In a game in which it appeared OKC had everything under control, Thompson and Steph Curry both rose to the occasion and played their best with their backs against the wall. Now with the series tied at 3-3, all the momentum swings back to Golden State for Game 7 in Oakland.

And for those wondering, here’s what Thompson’s Yoda socks look like.

The Force is strong with this young one. Next up? Let’s see if he can levitate over the outstretched arms of Steven Adams for a tomahawk dunk on Monday.
