Report: Colin Kaepernick trade ‘buzz’ heating up, Broncos not only team interested

As predicted, the buzz surrounding a potential Colin Kaepernick trade is starting to heat up.

The 2016 NFL draft is but a day away, and Cecil Lammey of FM 104.3 The Fan is reporting the Broncos aren’t the only team interested in making a trade for the embattled San Francisco 49ers quarterback.

A deal won’t likely be struck until the draft finally kicks off, and trade talks are expected to heat up to a boiling point in the hours leading up to Thursday’s opening round.

Teams that could potentially be interested in making a trade for Kaepernick other than the Broncos include the New York Jets, Cleveland Browns, Buffalo Bills, and maybe even the Dallas Cowboys.

You have to believe John Elway and the Broncos are hoping they can still somehow figure out how to get Kaepernick to agree to a pay cut. As mentioned by Lammey, they are the team with the most interest. Perceived value is apparently the only thing keeping a deal from happening in the first place with the San Francisco 49ers.

It’s going to be interesting to see how this shakes out. Given the statement we recently heard from team leader NaVorro Bowman (read about that here) it seems like Kaepernick isn’t exactly welcome right now in San Francisco’s locker room.

With that in mind, it seems likely that the 49ers will find a way to move him before OTAs get kicked off, and the draft is the best time to make a deal.
