It’s going to be cold Sunday morning when the Minnesota Vikings host the Seattle Seahawks at TCF Bank Stadium in the NFC Wild Card Game. Scratch that, it’s going to be downright frigid as an Arctic blast is slated to pour into the states from Canada.

According to CBS Minnesota, the game-time temperature is set to be below zero for the first time all year long, and reaching single digits could be a long shot.

“It’ll be very cold for that Vikings-Seahawks game,” WCCO meteorologist Matt Brickman said. “If you’re going out to that one, layer up with every piece of clothing you have that’s purple.”

Let’s repeat what Brickman said, just so we’re clear: “layer up with every piece of clothing you have that’s purple.”

According to weather.com, there is going to be some wind involved as well, around 11 miles per hour, which means it’s going to feel even colder than the temperature gauge shows.

This means we could be looking at a situation in which this upcoming playoff game ranks among the coldest NFL games on record.

Player safety is going to be an issue, along with the safety of the fans. That said, don’t be surprised if we see some drunk fans with shirts off in the stands. Stay safe everyone.
