Tom Brady on White House: They Should Give Me More Notice for a Visit

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady surely doesn’t lack in the ego department. A lot was made about Brady missing the team’s White House visit last month after it won the Super Bowl in February. It’s an honor that has been bestowed upon championship teams for decades now.

But Brady appears to want the White House and president to give him advanced notice before scheduling the meet and greet. And despite the fact that Brady was seen trying on new Apple Watches in New York City 24 hours after the team met with President Obama, he indicated his absence was due to having other plans.

Unfortunately I couldn’t make that, I had a family commitment. But the team enjoyed it. It’s such a great honor,” Brady said at an event in Salem MA. on Thursday, via CSN New England. “I’ve been lucky to go there three times professionally and then once when I was in college. It’s a pretty cool place, you guys should go next time. Hopefully we’re back there next year.

Brady is so cool. He’s met with the president four times now. It’s probably not even a big deal to the quarterback anymore.

If we get that opportunity, there’s no doubt I’ll be there,” Brady added. “They (the White House) should just give me a little more planning in advance.

We are pretty sure it’s hard for President Obama to plan anything of this ilk in advance. After all, he is running a nation over there.

In the past, we have seen professional athletes decline a White House invite based on political leanings. I think this is one of the first times an athlete hasn’t showed up because he had other plans and needed more advanced notice.

Don’t ever change, Tom.
