[mks_dropcap style=”rounded” size=”52″ bg_color=”#dd3333″ txt_color=”#ffffff”]T[/mks_dropcap]he Miami Dolphins may not be completely done revamping their wide receiver group. After releasing Brian Hartline, trading Mike Wallace and letting Charles Clay go in free agency, quarterback Ryan Tannehill promises to have an almost completely different group of pass catchers.
Replacing that trio are wide receiver Kenny Stills and tight end Jordan Cameron. Along with 2014 second-round pick Jarvis Landry, that’s a capable group of receiving options.
However, a recent report from CBS Sports insider Rob Rang indicates that the Dolphins are looking to potentially move up in this month’s draft for high-rising West Virginia product Kevin White.
[mks_pullquote align=”right” width=”300″ size=”24″ bg_color=”#dd3333″ txt_color=”#ffffff”]White is expected to go closer to the top five and might actually be the first receiver off the board.[/mks_pullquote]At 6’3″ and 215 pounds, White would act as a solid complement to the speedier Stills in the slot. He’d also create tons of mismatches, especially with Landry lining up at 6’0″ and providing solid speed opposite him.
The issue with Miami potentially acquiring the right to pick White is that it currently possesses the 14th selection in the first round. White is expected to go closer to the top five and might actually be the first receiver off the board.
If nothing else, this is an indication that the Dolphins are sold on Tannehill to be the team’s franchise quarterback moving forward. They are obviously attempting to provide the young signal caller with the necessary weapons to succeed. That’s a positive sign for fans in South Beach.
