Tom Brady Addresses ‘Deflate-gate’

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady addressed an investigation that is currently underway in the NFL relating to allegations that the team under-inflated footballs during their AFC Championship game victory over the Indianapolis Colts.

Here are some quotes from the rather mind-numbing press conference.

Brady flat out denied that he altered footballs.

I didn’t alter the balls in any way.

I didn’t alter the ball in any way. I have a process I go through… when I pick those balls out to me they’re perfect. I feel like I’ve always played within the rules. I would never do anything to break the rules.

Brady also indicated that league officials have yet to contact him regarding the investigation. This is a bit worrisome for those of us who believe that the NFL needs to get out in front of this prior to Super Bowl week.

Brady also told reporters that members of the team staff told him that they didn’t alter the balls prior to the game. The Patriots quarterback also said that he believes them.

The most interesting aspect of this press conference is that Brady said he thinks 12.5 psi footballs are ideal, but didn’t notice he was playing with 11 footballs that came in at 10.5 psi. That’s incredibly hard to believe.

We will have a full transcript when it becomes available.
