It looks like the Denver Broncos will have quarterback Peyton Manning back for the 2015 season. Manning reportedly intends to return for the season, but can’t and won’t make a final decision until he has his annual physical (a contract requirement).
If Manning returns, it will begin his 18th season in the NFL. This past season saw Manning help the Broncos to a fourth consecutive playoff appearance and a 12-4 record. Unfortunately for the Broncos, they were defeated by the Indianapolis Colts in the divisional round of the playoffs, which quickly ended any chance of advancing to another Super Bowl.
The devastating loss the Broncos suffered served for speculation that Manning might not return to play in 2015. It was only magnified when he refused to commit to playing in 2015 after the game.
Since with the Broncos, Manning has achieved amazing success, setting NFL single-season records for touchdowns (55) and passing yards (5,477) in 2013.
We’ll certainly hope for positive results from Manning’s upcoming physical to see how things play out from there. Should we see Manning in 2015, he’ll be working under new head coach Gary Kubiak, who seems to have nothing but the highest regard for Manning.
