Yasiel Puig And Dodgers Solve Irreconcilable Differences

There might be trouble in paradise for the Dodgers and their recently acquired beau Yasiel Puig. According to Bleacher Report, Don Mattingly showed his frustrations with the 23 year-old Cuban missile when he said Puig was not hurt enough to sit out during the bottom of the ninth inning during a game in Australia.

“I guess his back. Shoulder yesterday, back today, so I’m not sure if they’re going to get him tests or get him to the MRI Monday or a bone scan on Tuesday, maybe. I’m not quite sure what we’ll do. We may not do anything. I’m not sure,” said Mattingly.

Yasiel Puig and “issues” go hand-in-hand. Last season he was benched twice due to disciplinary issues. In addition, his offseason wasn’t too great. In December he was arrested for his second traffic offense. According to TMZ, Cops said they clocked Yasiel Puig at 110 mph in a 70 mph zone. He was arrested for reckless driving. Like I mentioned, second time this has happened to the outfielder.

It’s reached the point where Mattingly is probably trying to just let these things go and move on. And according to ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne, that’s exactly what he’s trying to do:

“”It was good for everybody. Donnie just wanted to squash this, and it did,” one veteran, who asked not to be named, told ESPN.

Don’t expect Puig to go anywhere. You’ll still get that Dodger dog in October.

He can’t get any worse from spring, that’s for sure. He leaves Arizona with a .122 batting average, five hits, and zero home runs.
