New York Yankees catcher Ben Rortvedt landed on the 10-day injured list Thursday with a strained right oblique muscle.

The Yankees also selected infielder/outfielder Marwin Gonzalez to the 40-man roster and signed him to a major league contract.

Outfielder Jeisson Rosario was designated for assignment in a corresponding transaction.

Rortvedt, 24, batted .169 with three homers and seven RBIs in 39 games with the Minnesota Twins last season. He joined the Yankees in a trade last month that sent Josh Donaldson and Isiah Kiner-Falefa to New York for Gary Sanchez and Gio Urshela.

Gonzalez, 33, hit .375 this spring with three homers and 10 RBIs in nine games. He is a career .256 hitter with 101 home runs and 397 RBIs in 1,053 games with the Houston Astros (2012-18, 2021), Twins (2019-20) and Boston Red Sox (2021).

Rosario, 22, went hitless in seven at-bats in spring training. He played 98 games at Double-A Portland last season and batted .232 with three homers, 36 RBIs and 11 steals.
