Just days after the New York Yankees welcomed back outfielders Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton, they will now lose Cameron Maybin for the foreseeable future with a significant injury.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone announced on Saturday that tests determined Maybin suffered a Grade 2 calf strain after injuring it during Friday’s game when rounding the bases.

While Maybin was expected to shift into a backup role with Stanton and Judge’s return, the 32-year-old had been one of New York’s best hitters this season in their absence.

Maybin posted a .314/.391/.500 slash line with a .891 OPS, five home runs and six stolen bases in 118 at-bats this season. The injury will likely keep him out of action for at least a month and New York may not see him back until after the All-Star Break.
