Ridge Holland has announced that his time with WWE is coming to an end. In a statement posted to social media, Holland revealed that the company has informed him that his contract will not be renewed when it expires on November 14. The news comes at a difficult time for the superstar, who is currently recovering from a serious foot injury he sustained just weeks ago while competing for TNA Wrestling.
In his post, Holland shared the details of his situation and expressed his frustration with the timing of the decision, which leaves him unable to work while he rehabilitates his injury. He wrote, “I’ve been informed that WWE will not be renewing my contract when it ends on November 14th. WWE are still going to cover my rehab from injury but my guaranteed pay will end, quite frustrating to say the least as I cannot work for another 6 months due to the aforementioned injury, with a family of 5 to support.”
Despite the difficult circumstances, Holland expressed gratitude for his time with the company and thanked his supporters. “My career with WWE has been blighted by misfortune but I’m still thankful and grateful for the opportunity and experience. The shining light that has always kept me going is the HUGE support from a handful of special human beings. Thank you,” he continued.
Holland concluded his post by looking toward the future, announcing plans to start a new business while he recovers. “I’m unsure what lies ahead of me in terms of wrestling but going forward I will be working hard to heal up and in that time I will be launching my own online coaching business…..so stay tuned. Cheers”.
Ridge Holland’s Injury
The injury occurred during a TNA television taping in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Holland was competing against Moose as part of the ongoing crossover storyline between WWE and TNA when he landed awkwardly, suffering a Lisfranc injury. This complex injury to the mid-foot is known for its long recovery time and required Holland to undergo surgery on October 3.
A former professional rugby player, Holland signed with WWE in 2018 and began his career in the NXT UK brand. He was later moved to NXT in the United States before being called up to the main roster, where he was a member of The Brawling Brutes faction alongside Sheamus and Butch. Throughout his tenure, he competed across all of WWE’s brands, including a brief stint with the revived Evolve promotion.
