WWE may have just revealed where Trick Williams is going to land on the main roster during this week’s edition of SmackDown.

Williams has produced a resume in NXT that will have him ranked among the greatest performers to ever compete for the black and gold brand. He is a one-time North American champ. Two-time NXT world champ, and even held TNA Wrestling’s top title for a solid amount of time in 2025 while still a member of NXT.

Furthermore, he is one of the most entertaining performers in NXT history and is also skilled inside the ring. After such an impressive run in the company, there is very little left for him to do. It has created a lot of speculation that he is likely to be moved to WWE Raw or SmackDown soon. Well, the company might have offered a clue about where he lands this week.

On Friday’s edition of SmackDown, there was an unexpected appearance from a notable NXT talent. No, it wasn’t Williams. It was veteran tag team wrestler Lash Legend. She surprisingly attacked one half of the women’s tag champs, Alexa Bliss, and helped cost her partner and fellow champ Charlotte Flair a match against Nia Jax.

Lash Legend’s debut is proof that Trick Williams is headed to SmackDown?

Following the win, Jax and Legend confirmed their new alliance by celebrating, and she is now a member of the SmackDown roster. What does this have to do with Trick Williams? Well, Legend has been his girlfriend for at least two years.

For quite some time, WWE has made an effort not to break up backstage couples. That is why Zelina Vega and Aleister Black, and Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch are on the same roster. Does that always happen? No. But considering the immense potential of Williams, it makes a ton of sense to keep him in a good place mentally and have his other half with him on the road for his move to the main roster.

Plus, general manager Nick Aldis revealed a mystery opponent will face LA Knight in one of the “Last Time is Now” tournament matches. That could definitely be Williams, and Legend’s debut was the first hint.
