- Sami Zayn had made it a point to take on all comers in his United States Championship open challenge series. Last week, he finally met his match in the form of the returning Ilja Dragunov. ‘The Mad Dragon’ had been out of action for quite a while but wasted no time making a splash and winning the U.S. Title. Zayn was as fighting a champion as we’ve seen on SmackDown. Will Dragunov continue the open challenge and take on all comers?
- Last week’s number one contender’s match for the Undisputed WWE Championship took a serious turn as Jacob Fatu was attacked and laid out backstage. His opponent, Drew McIntyre, was eager to claim victory with his competition taken out, but champion Cody Rhodes would have none of that and took him on in an impromptu match. After a heated brawl, the match ended in a disqualification as McIntyre nailed Rhodes with the title belt. With major animosity between the two rivals, what will they get into this week?
- WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton took her loss to Stephanie Vaquer at Crown Jewel in stride. As disappointing as it was, she has set her sights on reminding everyone that she is still at the top of the SmackDown women’s division. This drew the attention of Kiana James who happened to be walking by. Some verbal sparring between the two led to a one-on-one match being made for this week. Will Stratton get right back on track? Or will James have something up her sleeve to score the biggest win of her young career?
