Wrestling fans love a good mystery, and WWE has set one up for this month’s Elimination Chamber premium live event. On this week’s edition of WWE Raw, a mysterious box arrived box stage with a note to not open it until Feb. 28, which is the date of Elimination Chamber.

Since the mystery box arrived, there has been a ton of speculation about who, or what, will be inside. With that in mind, we offer up six ideas for what WWE fans will find when the box is cracked open next Saturday.

Chris Jericho

Many fans and podcasters are hoping the mystery box is somehow tied to the return of Chris Jericho. There have been rumors for months that the WWE legend’s AEW contract was set to expire at the end of 2025, and all signs pointed to a return to WWE this year. Bringing him back just in time for WrestleMania 42 makes sense.

However, a new report this week claims he is still under contract to AEW after having his contract frozen last year. So the chance of him or something related to him being in the box looks very unlikely.

Danhausen

If there actually is a person in the mystery box, it makes sense if they aren’t bound by real life. So it would need to be someone with some supernatural elements in their character. That is why AEW veteran Danhausen being in the box fits.

The box sort of mirrors when Dracula was shipped to England in the legendary Bram Stoker book, and Danhausen is sort of like a hilarious wrestling version of Nosferatu. If a being is locked in that box for multiple weeks, it sets up a funny debut for the beloved comedy-driven character.

New WWE Hardcore Championship

The assumption by many is that the mystery box set to be opened at Elimination Chamber has to have a person in it, but it could be a thing, and that thing might be a new belt. However, instead of introducing a new title, it would not be surprising if the company brought back one of its former championships.

Considering how the box looks, a perfect option would be the return of the Hardcore title. That belt remains a favorite among long-time fans, but the type of matches it brought about was a unique facet of the Attitude Era. Adding more violent matches to diversify the circus that is WWE and offering certain talent a new path to fame would be a fun surprise on the road to WrestleMania.

‘Broken’ Matt Hardy & Brother Nero

Going back to the idea of a character with supernatural elements being in the mystery box. Another option is an unexpected return from the legendary duo, the Hardy Boyz. Recently, Matt Hardy claimed that the tag team will be on WWE TV again in 2026 after making multiple appearances on NXT last year.

But what if they returned to the company this time as their “Broken Universe” alter egos? Being the Hardys in TNA, but then the “Broken” version in WWE could be a fun clash and offer something unique for both brands. Those characters potentially clashing with the Wyatt Sicks at WrestleMania could be something that gets set up from their return.

New WWE European Title

Over the last year, WWE has made a hard push into Europe and has started doing live editions of Raw and SmackDown in major European cities. They have also brought in even more European prospects in recent years.

That is why now may be the perfect time for the return of the European title. When it comes to potential options for what’s in the mystery box, the title being “shipped from Europe” for a comeback on WWE TV is a possibility.

EVIL

Another individual who would be a sensible option to be inside the box is former IWGP champion EVIL. The long-time NJPW star reportedly became a free agent recently, and rumors claim he is WWE-bound. His character also has some supernatural elements to it. So, the company leaning even further into that could be how they present him to North American audiences unfamiliar with his work.
