A new rumor about WWE’s WrestleMania 42 plans for a top title on SmackDown is sure to get an eye roll from a lot of fans.

We are officially on the road to WrestleMania 42, and WWE is starting to lay out plans for the two-night event in April. When it comes to the top women’s titles, Royal Rumble winner Liv Morgan is on a collision course with Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer.

So what does that mean for WWE Women’s Champ Jade Cargill? Well, it looks like she may end up facing the two women who fought for the title she currently owns at WrestleMania 41. According to a new addition of Wrestle Votes Radio, Charlotte Flair and Tiffany Stratton are viewed internally as the likely opponents for Cargill at WrestleMania.

Flair and Cargill would be a new matchup. However, there are many fans who would not be thrilled with the idea of her being in yet another world title match at WWE’s biggest annual event. Stratton is the woman Cargill took the title from in November. Continuing that rivalry after fans just saw a few matches last year would also get an eye roll from most in the WWE Universe.

According to Wrestle Votes Radio, Flair and Stratton are not who they originally had in mind to face Cargill at WrestleMania. WWE reportedly hoped for Cargill to battle the women with whom she held the women’s tag titles with in 2024, Bianca Belair.

The five-time women’s world champion has been out of action for the last nine months after she suffered a finger injury in her triple threat title match at WrestleMania 41. Various reports have suggested she has had a lot of trouble fully recovering from the injury. However, recent rumors point to her being brought back into the fold in some way for the April event.
