After walking out of last year’s WrestleMania as the Women’s World Champion, IYO SKY has recently been without a program after she and Rhea Ripley dropped the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles to Nia Jax and Lash Legend.

However, according to a new report from BodySlam.net, WWE has intentionally kept SKY and Asuka apart in recent months to protect a major singles clash scheduled for Allegiant Stadium. The internal plan involves reviving the tension within the former Damage CTRL ranks.

While IYO SKY is expected to transition back into a program with The Kabuki Warriors, the match is currently penciled in as a singles bout against Asuka. Interestingly, the report also indicates growing internal support to add Kairi Sane to the contest.

“WWE has intentionally avoided long periods of in-ring action between Asuka and IYO as that is the match currently scheduled for WrestleMania… There is internal support to add Kairi Sane into the mix and make it a triple threat,” BodySlam sources revealed.

This matchup is expected to be one of a record-breaking six women’s matches currently being planned for the two-night event in Las Vegas. The card is already taking shape with Jade Cargill vs. Rhea Ripley for the WWE Women’s Title and Stephanie Vaquer vs. Liv Morgan for the Women’s World Championship.

Additionally, AJ Lee is expected to defend her newly won Women’s Intercontinental Title against Becky Lynch in a rematch from their Elimination Chamber bout.  That bout is not locked in yet, as Lee must first put her title on the line next week on Raw. She will defend the title against Bayley on that Raw episode.
