It still looks like WWE is very interested in the idea of President Donald Trump making an appearance at Saturday Night’s Main Event for John Cena’s retirement match.

Those who are not devoted fans of WWE may not realize that President Trump is a member of the company’s Hall of Fame after being inducted in 2013. The New York native has a lengthy history with the pro wrestling company that dates back to 1988.

His casinos in Atlantic City hosted WrestleMania 4 and 5. He appeared at WrestleMania 20 in Madison Square Garden. And he had a lengthy feud with WWE founder Vince McMahon that culminated in a “Battle of the Billionaires” clash at WrestleMania 23 in 2007.

Even now, the current President of the United States has a very friendly relationship with the head of creative, Paul “Tripe H” Levesque. That’s why rumors in October about him possibly appearing for John Cena’s retirement match in Washington, D.C. were not a huge surprise. The company is trying to give the iconic wrestler as big a send-off as possible, and having the sitting president in attendance would make the moment legendary.

Nevertheless, it would still seem unlikely despite the Dec. 13 event’s proximity to the White House. In a new interview with FOX News, WWE star Logan Paul left the door open to a Trump showing up for the card inside the Capital One Arena.

“We have talked about it. I have no idea. It seems like something that could happen,” Paul said. “I think it’d be awesome. But I don’t know how political the WWE wants to get, so I’m not sure.”

President Trump also had a bond with UFC CEO Dana White and has appeared at several UFC events in New York’s Madison Square Garden. It would not be a stretch for him to be at Capital One Arena for John Cena’s grand farewell.
