After months of rumors, it looks like NXT legend Trick Williams could soon be making his WWE main roster debut.

Williams will go down as one of the greatest performers in the history of NXT. In the years since signing a developmental deal in February 2021, he won the Iron Survivor in 2023, is a former North American champion, and a two-time NXT champ. His success has made him one of the most popular performers to come out of the Performance Center.

However, he was ready to move up to either WWE RAW or SmackDown a year ago. Yet he has remained in NXT and showed what he can do as a heel, and made history by being the first star to win the TNA Wrestling world title while a contracted member of the WWE roster. But it looks like his time with the gold and black brand is finally over.

According to BodySlam.net, WWE is taping next week’s episodes of WWE RAW and SmackDown in Grand Rapids, MI. The outlet claims Williams is scheduled to be backstage for the pair of events. They claim it is not a lock that he appears on TV for either show, and it could instead come in January, but it sure seems likely.

Of the two brands, he is sure to be headed to the SmackDown brand. The company reportedly has a policy where they try to keep performers who are dating on the same brand together. Williams and fellow NXT alum Lash Legend recently got engaged. So it would make sense for him to land on the blue brand.

It will be interesting to see which version of Williams hits the main roster. He has most recently been a very entertaining heel in NXT. Many fans watch all three brands, so it would be a harsh change if he all of a sudden started as a babyface on the main roster. However, his potential is massive as a good guy, especially with a popular theme song that gets a lot of fan reaction.
