Tiffany Stratton Almost Had Totally Different WWE Name

Tiffany Stratton revealed during a recent Twitch stream that she almost had a very different name when she made her WWE NXT debut.

Stratton said her ring name came down to two finalists: Tiffany Stratton or Veronica Swanson. She also disclosed that she had previously considered pitching the name Darby so she could be nicknamed the Darby Doll, but did not believe WWE would have approved it. She said she is happy with how it landed, noting that Tiffany is her mother’s name.

Stratton also opened up about a moment on WWE SmackDown a few months ago that left her briefly unconscious. She described a moonsault off the top rope to the floor that went wrong when she flipped too fast, causing her head to strike the mat hard.

“I blacked out for a second,” Stratton said. “I didn’t know where I was.”

She said the bump was self-inflicted rather than caused by an opponent. The moonsault is central to Stratton’s in-ring identity — her finishing move, the Prettiest Moonsault Ever, is a variation of the triple jump moonsault that draws directly from her background as a gymnast.

Stratton competed in gymnastics for several years before a stress fracture in her foot ended that career in 2017. She signed with WWE in August 2021. She stated that watching Charlotte Flair on SmackDown was the inspiration that drew her to professional wrestling.

Since joining the main roster in February 2024, Stratton has established herself as one of SmackDown’s top performers. She won the Women’s Money in the Bank contract in July 2024 and cashed it in on January 3, 2025, to capture the WWE Women’s Championship, which she held for 302 days. She is currently the WWE Women’s United States Champion, having won the title on the April 24 episode of SmackDown by defeating Giulia.

Stratton also named her dream triple threat match during the stream, selecting Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY as her ideal opponents.
