Fans hoping to see “Stone Cold” Steve Austin on WWE Raw tonight are likely to be disappointed. Despite today being 3:16 Day and the show taking place in San Antonio, Texas — Austin’s original home state — the WWE Hall of Famer has indicated he will not be making an appearance.

WrestleVotes had reported that WWE was hopeful Austin would show up, but Austin himself has put those expectations to rest. Speaking with The Takedown on SI, Austin explained that he’ll be deep in race preparation rather than tuning in to Raw or making a surprise appearance. When asked if fans had a special reason to watch tonight, Austin ruled it out.

“Man, they should tune in because they love WWE and Monday Night Raw. I’ll be a few days out from that race, the race I’m talking about with my racing career, and we’re trying to get that car ready, and we’re working our asses off.

“So, yeah, I’ll be hunkered down in a garage out here in BFE, Nevada, trying to get this buggy ready — side-by-side utility vehicle — to race this grueling 250-mile race with everybody else that I race with. So I want to get out there and put my own show on in the desert.”

Off-road racing has become one of Austin’s primary pursuits outside of wrestling. He has built his own racing team based out of Nevada, where he currently lives, and has been putting significant time and resources into that venture. The upcoming 250-mile race he referenced is clearly a priority, and Austin made clear that getting the vehicle competition-ready is taking up his full attention right now.

While Austin won’t be in San Antonio tonight, he will be in Las Vegas for WrestleMania 42 weekend. It has been confirmed that he will be signing autographs and meeting fans at the WWE World convention. Austin told The Takedown on SI that he values those fan interactions. Whether

Austin will have any on-screen role at WrestleMania 42 itself remains unconfirmed. At WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas in 2025, he made a brief cameo and announced the night two attendance figure, but nothing beyond the WWE World appearance has been locked in for this year.

Frost Bank Center in San Antonio is the venue for tonight’s Raw. The show is expected to feature appearances by Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar, along with a Women’s Intercontinental Championship match between AJ Lee and Bayley. Fans will have plenty to follow on tonight’s card regardless of Austin’s absence.
