A huge update has emerged about the timeline for Seth Rollins’ return from injury, and it looks like he will be out well into next year.

The WWE World Heavyweight title picture has been turned upside down over the last week. While scoring a huge win over Cody Rhodes on Saturday at WWE Crown Jewel, the heavyweight champ reportedly suffered a shoulder injury.

The injury and its severity reportedly may have played a role in why his The Vision brothers Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, and Paul Heyman attacked him on Raw and left him lying in a heap. In recent days, there has been a lot of speculation about what’s next for Rollins. Especially since CM Punk is now the new No. 1 contender for his belt.

Well, according to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer, Rollins is in for a lengthy layoff that will stretch well into 2026.

“Well, it looks like he’s going to need surgery on the shoulder, and that’s pretty much it,” Meltzer revealed. “The story that I got was that he was going to have surgery as soon as possible. That was from a couple of days ago. And everything else, I haven’t heard anything as far as what they’re going to do with the title. But if he has surgery, he’s going to be out for a long time. Probably past WrestleMania.”

In recent weeks, there have been rumors that a clash between Rollins and Roman Reigns was expected to be a featured match at WrestleMania 42 in April. That looks very unlikely now, as “The Visionary” has seemingly suffered another major injury in a WWE career that has seen a lot of them over the last six years.
