The AEW tag team Private Party, consisting of Marq Quen and Isiah Kassidy, has been conspicuously absent from company television for most of 2025. Their last appearance was in January, where they lost the AEW Tag Team Championships.
According to a report from Fightful Select, both Quen and Kassidy are still under contract with All Elite Wrestling, and their contracts may expire at different times. However, despite their contractual status, the report notes there are currently no creative plans in motion for their return.
Earlier in the year, rumors circulated that Private Party’s contracts were set to expire, and it was reported that WWE was keeping tabs on the duo as potential free agents. During this period of uncertainty, the team also garnered attention backstage for a dramatic physical transformation. The pair making the jump to WWE when their deals expire is believed to be a key reason why they have not appeared on AEW TV in months.

The report added that this transformation was guided, in part, by members of The Hurt Syndicate. MVP and his group reportedly took a liking to Private Party, advising them on building their physiques and refining their overall presentation. Those familiar with the situation noted that The Hurt Syndicate has been “very helpful” to the duo’s off-screen progress.
While Private Party remains on the sidelines, the AEW tag team division has continued to move forward. The current AEW World Tag Team Champions are Brodido, the team of Brody King and Bandido, who captured the titles at “Forbidden Door” back in August.
Their next major title defense is scheduled for the upcoming “Full Gear” pay-per-view on November 22. At that event, they will defend their championships against FTR, who recently won a four-way match to secure their spot as the number one contenders.
