Priscilla Kelly —known by WWE fans as Gigi Dolin — has been opening up about the crushing emotional toll of her time in NXT. In a very candid chat with Denise Salcedo, Kelly revealed that being a part of the Toxic Attraction faction was a major contributing factor to a really dark period of depression and personal struggle.

Looking back on her WWE experience in an interview with Denise Salcedo, Kelly said, “I went through a lot of stuff in WWE that kind of shot me into this horrible depression. That tail-ended Toxic. I was severely depressed. I put on a bunch of weight. I started not caring about my ring work. I kind of gave up because I was just so depressed because of things that were happening behind the scenes. Then I went through this down period of, ‘I hate my life.’”

Behind the Scenes in NXT

Before WWE came knocking, Kelly had built up a solid reputation on the independent circuit. In 2021, she joined the WWE NXT as Gigi Dolin and teamed up with Mandy Rose and Jacy Jayne in the Toxic Attraction faction, picking up the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship twice with Jayne.

Kelly then described how both professional expectations and personal issues intensified her struggles: “There was just a lot of pressure because I was new, and I had come from the indies. There was a lot they were trying to beat out of me. And yeah, there was definitely stuff going on behind the scenes. I don’t want to bring it up because I know it’ll blow up and become a whole thing. But let’s just say some people were very, very, very not nice to me — to the point that I was suicidal for a little bit because I was really going through it.”

She left the WWE in May 2025 after four years, and quickly headed back to the indies as Priscilla Kelly, which turned out to be a great move — she went on to win the ACW Fire Women’s Championship.

Kelly’s speaking out about her story really helps shine a light on the pressures that wrestlers face behind the scenes ,  and by sharing her story, she’s really contributing to that much-needed conversation about mental health in the wrestling world.
