Tonight at WWE’s Saturday Night’s Main Event, the incomparable career of pro wrestling icon John Cena comes to a ceremonious end.

In the evening’s main event, the future WWE Hall of Famer will take on two-time World Heavyweight champion Gunther in his retirement match. However, the card inside the Capital One Arena in Washington, DC, will also include a few other notable matchups.

WWE champion Cody Rhodes will face his NXT counterpart Oba Femi. Women’s division legend Bayley will take on star prospect Sol Ruca, and the current World Tag Team champs, AJ Styles and Dragon Lee, will face NXT’s Je’Von Evans and TNA X-Division title holder Leon Slater.

WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event Results (Dec. 13, 2025)

Cody Rhodes vs. Oba Femi

Rhodes and Femi delivered an entertaining match, and one of the biggest takeaways was how over the NXT star is that the crowd was split for this one. Unfortunately, after a good start to the show, it ended in disqualification due to interference from Drew McIntyre. That terrible end to the match drops the grade from a B+ to B-.

Bayley vs. Sol Ruca

The goal of this card structure was to help showcase the future, and this match did exactly that. Ruca showcased why she is one of the best prospects in the industry and looked like a superstar as she displayed her unique athleticism and moveset. She got the win and deserved it to further build a future WWE champion.

  • Grade: A

AJ Styles & Dragon Lee vs. Je’Von Evans & Champion Leon Slater

Just like the previous match, this one showed the world why Slater and Evans are two of the best prospects in professional wrestling right now. However, Lee and Styles also proved they could hang with the pair of 20-somethings and were able to outduel them to get the victory a Saturday Night’s Main Event.

  • Grade: A

John Cena vs. Gunther

In his final match, John Cena delivered another memorable match with high drama. After a hard-fought war, like many legends before him, Cena did the honors on his way out. It enraged fans in the arena, but they clearly haven’t been paying attention to pro wrestling for the last half-century if they expected the icon to win on the way out.
