A major city in the United Kingdom has a real chance to get WrestleMania soon. However, it’s not London or even in England.

Ireland has emerged as a potential future host for WWE WrestleMania, with Kilkenny Councillor Maurice Shortall telling the Irish Mirror that the country is well placed to submit a credible bid for the event. Shortall’s comments come as WWE continues to map out future WrestleMania locations, with Nashville also having recently confirmed interest in hosting the event, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

“As a globally recognized event with the capacity to attract tens of thousands of international visitors and generate substantial international media exposure, WrestleMania presents a significant opportunity for Ireland to strengthen its position as a leading destination for major event tourism,” Shortall said.

He also addressed the potential regional benefit beyond Dublin or any single major city, noting that an event of WrestleMania’s scale could drive tourism across the country. “The wider regional benefit to counties such as Kilkenny would be substantial, with strong potential for tourism spillover, increased domestic travel, and enhanced international visibility for Ireland’s secondary tourism destinations,” he said.

Shortall shared his confidence in Ireland’s ability to compete with other bidders. “Ireland is well placed to present a credible and competitive bid for WrestleMania, given our strong international tourism brand, proven track record in hosting major events, and global reputation as a welcoming destination,” he said.

WWE is currently committed to holding WrestleMania 43 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, next year, marking the first time the event will be held internationally. The locations for WrestleMania 44 and beyond have not been confirmed, leaving the door open for bids from cities and countries around the world, including Ireland and Nashville.
