Danhausen used April Fools’ Day to revisit every name tied to his ongoing curse gimmick in WWE, firing off a series of tweets on Wednesday that announced each of his past “victims” had finally been freed from his curse — before immediately pulling the rug out with the same punchline every time.
Since arriving in WWE, Danhausen has made spreading his so-called curse a central part of his character, working his way through a growing list of targets that includes Dominik Mysterio, The Miz, Kit Wilson, and streamer IShowSpeed, among others. The running gag has become one of the more entertaining threads of his WWE run, and on April Fools’ Day, he found a way to get one more round of mileage out of it.
He opened with IShowSpeed, setting the template that every subsequent tweet would follow: “Hello @ishowspeedsui, you’re uncursed April fools hahahahahaha.” From there, he moved methodically through his list. The Miz was next: “Hello, The @mikethemiz, you’re uncursed April fools hahahahahaha.”
Kit Wilson followed: “Hello @KitWilson_PD, you’re uncursed April fools hahahahahaha.” Dominik Mysterio came after that: “Hello @DomMysterio35, you’re uncursed April fools hahahahahaha.” He closed things out with Grayson Waller and left the door open for one more: “Hello @GraysonWWE and or possibly a little bit of @TrueKofi, you’re uncursed April fools hahahahahaha.”
The structure of the social media idea was straightforward but effective. By going name by name in order and landing the exact same punchline each time, Danhausen managed to acknowledge every person connected to his curse gimmick in a single run of posts while making it clear none of the so-called uncursings were real.
The curse, naturally, remains very much intact. With Mysterio, Danhausen cursed him, and Mysterio ended up losing the Intercontinental Title to Penta on a recent episode of Monday Night Raw.
