A huge new rumor claims the main event of tonight’s edition of WWE SmackDown will see Cody Rhodes lose his title to Drew McIntyre.
Friday’s edition of SmackDown takes place in Berlin, Germany, and features a major matchup in the headliner. The top rivalry on the blue brand has been the ongoing saga of McIntyre making Rhodes’s life difficult. And he has gotten so good at it that, despite falling in two previous title opportunities, he is getting a third shot at the gold tonight.
Furthermore, McIntyre has been able to use the WWE Undisputed champ’s rage against him and was given the chance to pick the stipulation for the bout, and that is for it to be a “three stages of hell” showdown. Rhodes’ latest title defense is a big risk, and it looks like it won’t pay off.
Cody Rhodes to Lose WWE Title Tonight on SmackDown?

According to BodySlam.net, there is a push internally from multiple personnel in creative to have McIntyre defeat Rhodes for the title.
It would be a stunning result. However, the company has undertaken a major build toward this third match. Getting a major payoff of a title change would make sense. Furthermore, the Scottish Psycho has earned another run as champion with some outstanding work as, arguably, the company’s top bad guy.
What makes an unexpected title change on SmackDown very possible is that this is not the first time McIntyre beating Rhodes for the gold has been seriously discussed. Rumors surfaced a couple of months ago that both stars suggested a title change early in their feud. However, the idea was shot down at the time.
