While it may be a nothing burger, it is possible WWE just hinted at doing an unexpected John Cena vs. Edge match during the former’s final dates of his retirement tour.
To the dismay of long-time WWE fans, company icon John Cena has just four dates left on his retirement tour. He will appear on the Nov. 10 and 17 editions of Monday Night Raw. As well as Survivor Series later this month, and then compete in his final match at Saturday Night’s Main Event on Dec. 13.
It has led to a lot of speculation about who he could face during these final appearances in a WWE ring. Over the weekend, the company revealed that they will soon start a 16-man tournament to decide his opponent in his final bout. But he is likely to compete in matches before then.
One name wrestling fans have clamored for over the last month is one more match with the man that might have been his greatest rival, Edge, AKA Adam Copeland. However, with the Hall of Famer currently working for WWE’s top rival, AEW, that seems like an impossibility. However, crazier things have happened in pro wrestling.

Well, his old employer might have (or not) hinted at the possible matchup. On Wednesday, fans noticed an interesting new video post on their WWE Vault YouTube channel. And that was a nearly two-hour-long video chronicling the rivalry between Cena and Edge.
It could be a completely random thing, and just a piece of content remembering Cena’s exploits as he nears the end of his wrestling career. Chances are that’s exactly what it is. However, it is very interesting timing. This video could have gone up months ago. Why now, when there has been so much speculation about Edge possibly facing Cena one last time?
They may just be playing off the recent discourse in wrestling circles. Or maybe, just maybe, it is something to remind fans about their feud ahead of one last match during one of John Cena’s upcoming dates this month.
