WWE has been hit with a significant setback as Bron Breakker has been sidelined indefinitely following a physical segment on last week’s Monday Night Raw.
The former Intercontinental Champion reportedly sustained a serious injury during a spot involving the announce table. According to a report from Mike Johnson at PWInsider, the injury occurred specifically when Breakker flipped the table over during the broadcast.
The situation developed rapidly following the February 2 broadcast. By Wednesday, February 4, medical evaluations confirmed the extent of the damage, and it was determined that surgery was the only viable option to repair the hernia. PWInsider reported:
“We are told that Bron Breakker was hurt during last Monday’s RAW when he flipped the table over… We are also told that by Wednesday, 2/4, it was determined he was going to require surgery for a hernia.”
As a result of the procedure, Breakker has been pulled from all upcoming live events and television appearances. There is currently no estimated return date for him, which casts doubt on his status for the upcoming WrestleMania 42 season in Las Vegas.
This injury comes at a bad time, as Breakker was reportedly scheduled to face Seth Rollins at the event. According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the company had already pivoted its creative plans once for Breakker this year, and this medical emergency may force another shuffle of the Las Vegas card.
Positive Update On Chelsea Green’s Foot Injury

While the news for Breakker is somber, there is more positive news regarding the severity of Chelsea Green’s injury. After appearing in a walking boot over the weekend, a new report suggests that Green has avoided a major fracture. Mike Johnson of PWInsider reported that the internal belief within WWE is that Green suffered a bad sprain rather than a break to her foot or ankle.
The injury occurred during a three-way Elimination Chamber qualifying match on the February 6 episode of SmackDown against Tiffany Stratton and Lash Legend. The timing meant Green missed a scheduled AAA Mixed Tag Team Championship defense on Saturday.
Appearing via FaceTime during the AAA broadcast, Green revealed her condition and was subsequently replaced by La Hiedra. The loss led to a title change, which Green later vented about on social media. Despite avoiding a break, there is currently no word on how long she will be out of action.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select has noted that Green’s recovery will be closely monitored as the company prepares for the Elimination Chamber event later this month.
